Meet and join fellow residents, neighbors, parents and students. This year’s format will include interactive Q&A sessions with speakers and live entertainment.

Entertainment will be provided by White Point Elementary School students: the bentriliquist, the tappers, american honey and other amazing entertainers. Peggy and Bruce Lindquist of the Corner Store will also be making an appearance.
We will be holding an election for 2010-11 board members. We need your help! Please consider joining the board to help our community. The PRA board meets ten times per year on the second Tuesday of each month (excluding August and December) at 7:00 pm at Angels Gate Cultural Center. This would also be a good time to renew your membership if you haven’t done so already. It’s only $15 per house or apartment.

6:00pm-9:00pm. POLA HIGH SCHOOL presents POPs First Annual Dinner and Silent Auction. Sponsored by the Parent Organization for Port of Los Angeles High School (POPs). Saturday May1st, 2010, 6:00 – 9:00 PM @ the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, San Pedro. POLAHS Parent Organization to hold fundraiser for scholarships for worthy graduating seniors. The 6 - 9pm event will feature a Cinco de Mayo theme and include music, door prizes, dinner and a silent auction. Silent Auctions items feature a variety of local San Pedro businesses as well as golf packages, tennis baskets, wine from the private label of POLAHS Executive Director James Cross and more. Scholarships for the 2010 graduating class will be awarded, based on merit and announced at the May 19th POLAHS Scholarship Awards dinner. The POPs organization was founded to support and encourage the education of POLAHS students by raising funds and providing volunteers for school programs and activities.The POPs need Silent Auction items and if you would like to make a donation, please contact POPs President Christie Rochte – 310 528 1602. Clean San Pedro, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that deals with cleaning up graffiti, trash, weeds, etc. that are in the streets of San Pedro in the areas around Gaffey and Pacific Streets. A fundraiser will be held on May 16 to help them continue this community-minded work. There will be a martini bar, wine tasting, beer, food from San Pedro restaurants
