The San Pedro Waterfront Arts District is presenting “What Makes a There, Here?” on Thursday April 17th, 2014, 7:00pm, at the Grand Annex, 434 W. 6th Street, San Pedro.  The program will help the community understand current mural ordinances, how to initiate a project and gauge interest in creating San Pedro murals. 
This is the first in a series of gatherings designed to explore place-making activities and celebrate San Pedro’s diverse arts community. The panel discussion will review the latest LA mural ordinances and will feature Isabel Rojas-Williams, LA Mural Conservancy Executive Director, along with Segerstrom Teaching Artist Markus Tracy and Steve Shriver, a local artist with mural making experience. The panel discussion will be followed by a showing of “Exit Through the Gift Shop: A Banksy Film”.   Admission is free, but seating is limited and guests must have a ticket. The Tall Ships are coming back to the Port of Los Angeles and are scheduled to return on August 20th thru the 24th.  Anyone wishing to have a booth (non-profit, artist, food, etc.) or perform at the Tall Ships Festival is encouraged to come to a meeting which will be held on Thursday, February 20th at 10am in the Warner Grand Theatre located at 478 W. 6th Street in San Pedro.  Send any inquiries to this general e-mail address at tallshipsfestival@portla.org
